HOLLYWOOD :
Hollywood's striking writers have been given a Golden Globes boost by America's top designers--they'll auction off clothes the stars wear on the red carpet to aid their cause. Designers taking part in the Red Carpet Suites events held at the Luxe Hotel in Beverly Hills in the week leading up to the Globes will hand over cash raised from auctioned items to the Writers Guild of America's Strike Fund. The fund helps those writers in financial need after almost nine weeks on strike. If the strike continues until the Oscars in February, the same designers will auction off clothes their star clients wear to the Academy Awards, too.
